Denoise and Voice Effect

Learn how to reduce background noise and change the sound of a clip with Denoise and Voice Effect in VN.

Before You Start

[Denoise] and [Voice Effect] are available only when the currently selected video clip contains sound. Select a clip with audio on the timeline, then swipe through the clip editing toolbar to find both tools.

Note If the selected clip does not contain sound, [Denoise] and [Voice Effect] will not appear in the clip editing toolbar.

Denoise

[Denoise] reduces unwanted background noise in a clip while keeping the sound you want to hear. Start with a lower strength and increase it only when more noise reduction is needed.

  1. Select a video clip that contains audio, then tap [Denoise] in the clip editing toolbar.

  2. Turn on [Denoise].

  3. Drag the slider to adjust the noise-reduction strength. The setting ranges from [Low] to [Max]. VN processes the selected level after you adjust it.

  4. When processing is complete, preview the clip and choose a level that reduces the unwanted noise without making the sound you want to keep unclear. Tap the checkmark to apply the result.

Voice Effect

[Voice Effect] changes how the sound in the selected clip is heard. Use it for character voices, stylized narration, telephone or megaphone sounds, echoes, and other creative audio treatments.

  1. Select a video clip that contains audio, then tap [Voice Effect] in the clip editing toolbar.

  2. Tap a preset to preview how it changes the clip’s sound. Select [None] when you do not want to apply a voice effect.

  3. Swipe horizontally through the preset row to view all effects.

[Fan] Adds a rapidly wavering sound.
[Optimus] Creates a deep mechanical voice.
[Duck] Adds a high, comical tone.
[Chipmunk] Creates a very high-pitched voice.
[Cave] Adds a spacious echo.
[Valley] Creates a distant echo.
[Scratch] Adds a rough, distorted texture.
